essentially, the goal of anthropology in general is the translation of one culture into terms that another culture can understand.
cultural
anthropology
is the study of how culture impacts the individual experience.

it also looks at cultures as a whole, as opposed to the structures and concepts that define it.
food
anthropology
is essential to the field of anthropology: eating is a biological necessity, and is a universal part of humanity. this means that since everyone eats, culture is the primary thing that differentiates what we eat.

since cultures can be defined by their cuisines, it becomes clear upon comparison that we are far more alike as humans than we realize.
